When we left off it was about time for the cake cutting, I took a picture of the cake earlier that day…
and it is being eaten later by the newlyweds 🙂
Some cake ended up on Lindsay’s chestal region, so Brandon when for it…
Because he has a napkin you may think he was a gentleman and whipped it up but this is what he offered her after he licked it off her chest! LOL!

This is the first of many projects I hope to DIY for our wedding… our Engagement Party Invitation. I actually did these for my mom, we did not throw ourselved an Engagement Party, not that I think it is tacky to throw yourself and Engagement Party, it is just considered tacky in my mom’s circle, so I’m just clarifying.
The idea of the invite started with a picture taken by the very talented Jessica Claire at the wedding of my very good friend Tiffany Michelle. FH and I had been dating about 2 months when Tiffany married her awesome hubbers, Dan, and Jessica caught this shot of us laughing on the dance floor.
It has been my mothers favorite phote ever since and she wanted it incorporated into the invite, here is what we came up with and how…
Card Stock – I printed 2 invites on one 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of card stock.
Matte Photo Paper – I printed several photos on one sheet. I chose matte because I just prefer the finish.
Envelopes – 5 3/4″ x 8 3/4″ (8.5″ x 11″ folded in half)
3D Dots – These are dots used to make stuff pop out, my mom bought them not knowing how much we’d need. I’d figure 2 dots a popping thing.
X-Acto Knife – I build models for school, so I’m used to using an X-Acto knife instead of a paper cutter
X-Acto Knife safe straight-edge
First I cut the invite sheets in half…
Then I cut all the photos out, leaving no border…
Next FH put two dots on the back of each photo, one at the top middle and one at the bottom middle, and placed the photo in the top center of the invite.
Ta-Da the finished product!
Read about their rehearsal dinner here 🙂
First thing’s first – sorry it took me so long to post this, part of the reason it took so long was because I was going to wait for their pro-pics and the other reason was because I get really lazy towards finals (unlike most schools, finals for me last about 1 month because of how much work goes into a project).
* All photos by Boucher Photography unless I admit to them :)
Well my day started out pretty relaxed, after I got FH out the door with Jeremiah in the morning, my new friend Tiffany and I headed out for breakfast at Champagne Bakery, where we ran into the boys having coffee across the street at Starbucks.
After breakfast/lunch Tiffany and I stopped at the little shop in our hotel and bought a bottle of wine for getting ready and then headed back to our rooms to, you guessed it, get ready 🙂 But at a very leisurely pace. I’d never been to a wedding where FH had to be off doing stuff and I had all the time in the world to get ready, it was AWESOME! I watched Pretty Woman and took my time. In the middle of all our getting ready, Tiffany came over and we drank our wine and girl talked, but before we knew it, it was time to head to the wedding at Maderas Golf Course 🙂
When we arrived the boys were hanging around outside drinking, Brandon looked a little nervous, but you could tell he mostly just excited and nervous about being infront of all the people.
Brandon’s mom met me with a corsage and we went to go find the wedding cooridnator to see where I should sit in order to make it up to do my reading – now this wasn’t my wedding so I can’t speach for the Wedding Cooridnator’s abilities on a whole, but from my experience she didn’t have much of the ceremony events handled and seemed to be pretty frazzled when asked a question. I’m not positive she was employed by Maderas so I don’t want to “review” her, but that is my 2 cents. Since she had no clue Tiffany and I went and found a seat early so I didn’t end up on the middle of a row, climbing over people in the middle of the ceremony.
The ceremony was beautiful and Lindsay looked gorgeous!
That is FH to the right of Brandon, isn’t he handsome?
The happy Newlyweds!
If you’re wondering my reading was spectacular and I got tons of compliments 🙂 Moving on because this post is SO not about me (entirely).
After the ceremony we had some yummy appitizers and cocktails, and I snuck into the reception hall to take pictures and put my stuff down, you’re welcome.
Up next for dinner I had the super yummy salmon…
and FH had the chicken, which I also her was pretty good…
Up next – The Cake cutting, bouquet toss and garter toss!
36 – You give me kisses for my tummy when it’s upset (same goes for my headaches)
37 – You call me Baby
38 – When we went to get a new cell phone and didn’t want anything fancy, you left with a Blackberry
39 – You let me name your cars (even the rentals)
40 – You’re really proud of the engagement ring you bought me
Choosing the person to officiate our wedding was probably the easiest part so far…
I met our Officiant (we’ll call her Pastor L) when I was in high school. Pastor L had known my youth group leader (we’ll call her D) growing up and came to work at our church with D as the Children’s Ministries Director. Pastor L was young and fun and just full of energy and you couldn’t help but love her.
When Pastor L had her son (son L), I was over there babysitting all the time. Son L was the only kid I’ve ever babysat for who put his toys away after he used them, before we took out a new one and without being told! I’m not even that neat and an adult.
Then a few years later Pastor L was ordained a Presbyterian Minister, I was there at her ordination and watch son L and his friends in the nursery (or we all watched Veggie Tales). After the service D asked Pastor L to officiate at her upcoming wedding and I knew then I too wanted Pastor L to officiate at mine.
Over the years Pastor L and I lost touch, but about a year ago we (FH and I) ran into her at Cheesecake Factory with some friends. Even though we hadn’t spoken in years we were right back where we were before and I told FH as we walked out of the restaurant that she was the one I wanted to perform our ceremony when we got married and he was on board.
Fast forward to 2 weeks ago, FH has asked me to marry him and we’re in midst of venue searching, I had heard that Pastor L had moved to a very nearby city (in fact the on FH lives in also) and was Assistant Pastor at a start up church, I looked the church up online and called the number… no-one answered so I left a message. A week later when Pastor L called me I was so excited to tell her I was engaged and I wanted her to perform the ceremony, but Pastor L didn’t remember me 😦 or at least the last name they had written down… apparently I mummbled on my message because when she asked me who I was and I started to describe myself she was said, “That is not your name!” Once we straightened out my last name she felt horrible and we had a big laugh. She told me she was preaching at her new church next Sunday and I told her we’d be there.
Well we went to the church last Sunday and I LOVE IT! Pastor L had told a bunch of people about our embarrassing mix-up with my name and proceeded to tell everyone else she introduced us to the story. Her sermon was great and FH loved her. I’m so excited to have Pastor L back in my life and performing our wedding ceremony. Her new church is great and FH and I are going to start attending regularly 🙂
